WS 18 Taylor Grantham Lincolnshire Windsor side chair

Windsor side chair, very faintly signed TAYLOR GRANTHAM, of more delicate proportions when compared to chair No 27. I had this chair for many years before I realised there was a maker’s mark on the surface of the seat towards the back. In Dr B D Cotton’s The English Regional Chair (1990), an identical chair appears at NE 109 p.134.  This chair was No 17 in the Alford Manor exhibition and is discussed further at No 162.
